If we want to play CBJ our best bet is for them and the wings lost the rest of their games.

Any Flyers win clinches a NYR-Flyers matchup.

I think that is wrong. You have to combine another point for the flyers or a loss by the blue jackets to be correct.

The Blue Jackets lost tonight.

@tpanotchCSN 22m
Flyers need one win to clinch 3rd after CBJ lose tonight in Tampa

I kind of hope that series has 4 total goals. It'd really keep the stats/metrics guys spinning.

I'd take Detroit in round 2 if it means no chance to play Boston. One step at a time though.

It's by bracket though, so we'd take the winner of NYR-PHI regardless.

So would people still rather play Detroit to toughen ourselves up? Seems less viable after last night.

Not a favorable match up for the Penguins. Though it would be a good test for them. At some point they will have to beat a strong team to advance.

I'm just glad one of Boston and Detroit will definitely be out in the first round.

If it were to come to it, am I the only person who thinks we win a 7-game series vs. the Flyers?

(I don't want them to advance, though, because them losing > anything.)

I don't think anyone doubts the Pens could be the Flyers. It's a matter that the Flyers have some sort of mental advantage for the Pens and don't feel as confident as they would against the Jackets.
