2. Arena availability for the games between those dates at the opposing teams arena.

No way do we get back to back on Thurs/Fri, especially if we pull Detroit. There will be at least one weekend game.

I'd like to think there wouldn't be any back-to-backs in the playoffs at all. Seems dumb.

Thanks. Good to know there is some randomization to the madness and that I have a shot. :fist:

Again, disclaimer about subject to change and all of that, but whats wrong with doing games 1 and 2 on those dates and then putting game 3 on NBC in prime time on Sunday?

4 of those instances happened in an abbreviated year. They typically stay away from them as much as possible.

It's not conducive to good playoff hockey.

well, this is the first year in the crosby era that anyone can buy a full playoff package at prices $10 above what STH's pay. being advertised on the pens website now.

that really says alot about the current prices they are charging for playoffs, which i gladly pay but can't blame anyone thinking its ridiculous.

Clinching the playoffs so early and not having, the week of, any idea when they're going to play doesn't help much. Especially on Easter week. It can't be that hard to set dates when you already know the teams involved, regardless of seeding.

If I could buy a playoff strip at $10 above STH price every year, I'd ditch my STH plan in a heart beat. This is laughable and disgusting. I thought I had to invest $6000 up front for this right? Where are the wait listers? They are seriously offered this opportunity and don't jump on it???? Aren't the rights to the playoffs the reason that you buy tickets in the first place?

I'm expecting a 30% discount on single game tickets very soon before they make themselves look foolish.

Being there for a 8th straight year, prices going up, and people having a bad taste and not a lot of confidence in the Pens are all contributing factors here.

There are currently over 1800 tickets listed for sale on ticket exchange. This am there were around 1600. Tons of tickets priced right around season ticket price, yet no one wants to buy. I guess Columbus has no travelling fan base as one would think they could have a huge fan showing if they want and get ticket much cheaper than their arena.

As a comparison, there are under 300 tickets available on Columbus Ticketmaster and cheapest ticket is $125 (there are only about 30 or less for under $200) where as cheapest ticket on Pens Ticketmaster is $70 and there are maybe hundreds under $100.

The demand is high in a city where they've only had 1 other playoff appearance in 13 years. Novel concept.*

*High prices also due to the fact the only seats left are loge boxes (the wooden table things below the suites but above the lower bowl) and suites. Any other tickets are secondary market prices.

I am wondering why that high demand in Columbus hasn't translated to them buying up tons Pens tickets? I thought once it was know that they would be playing Pens, that they would have been supporting their team on the road. Their fans have a chance to do to the Pens what the Pens fans have done to them at their arena, but that hasn't happened.

They've dropped all of the ticket prices for Wednesday's game. All upper deck appear to be $108 and lower bowl in single attack have dropped over $70 each from first asking to $156.

Student rush to the rescue! Let's build the fan base!

Many of the tickets in the lower bowl on Stubhub are being sold at a loss for STH. They're still cheaper than Ticketmaster and can't sell.

My upper deck price per game for Rd 1 is $88. I don't know where you are getting all of the upper deck is $108. And I"m in the double attack zone.

And also, don't we go through this ever single season. Check and see what has/hasn't been sold prior to the actual game. Not 2 days before.

I don't get it -- are you made about this? If people don't want to spend the money for tickets, why does it agitate you? If you feel that this makes it less "special" or less economically worthwhile to be a STH, then drop the tix, since you'll probably have the ability to go to playoff games without them based on market data.

All the Penguins promised you was season tickets at X price. You agreed. The market can't sustain those prices apparently, and people are selling at a loss. What's the beef?
