Olympics, injuries, and the fact that we weren't really supposed to make it far anyways.
Still hopeful for game 7. I mean, Rangers beat us 3 in a row? Shouldn't be possible.

topshelf66 wrote:Big game 7 indeed. Win and nothing that happened the last two games matters. This would of course be ideal.
Lose and hard questions must be asked. Another 3-1 series lead blown to a much lesser team. Losing 3 home games in a series to the same lesser team. Another team able to completely shut down the regular season scoring leader and #1 PP. Another series of maturity issues. Penalties taken post-period. Multiple 1st period consecutive penalties in multiple games.
I think is is more than everything that ends, ends badly. There is a systemic or cultural failure of some sorts.

My choice would be Guy Boucher - he's coaching in Switzerland right now

They aren't good enough to win next round, but they are way better than NY. NY isn't a good hockey club.

I want a real ballbuster like Mike Keenan. Get him back from Russia already.

See games 2, 3, and 4.
If you think Bylsma is the sole problem here (can also substitute Fleury, Crosby there), you need to reevaluate.
This team has quit playing. There isn't really an explanation. If it was coaching or Fleury, then they wouldn't have given up 2 goals in 3 games.
Bylsma has no fault in games 1, 5, or 6 right? The team coming out completely unprepared and once again losing their heads when things don't go their way have nothing to do with him right? Blowing a 3-1 series lead has nothing to do with him right. The team sucking again in the playoffs has nothing to do with him right?
Look, maybe the Pens win Tuesday, and maybe they go on to the Finals. If that happens then great. I would have been wrong about this team and Bylsma. But this team has so many problems and they persist in the playoffs year after year after year. Tell me what is different about what is happening now than what has happened the last few years. This team has learned nothing. And that is a coaching issue.

I understand your point, but Sid has 1 Stanley Cup and both Lemieux and Jagr have 2 in 2 years.

I think the crowd will show up terrified and will on cheer at the first sign of good.

Which means a new coach?
