Still dead. Gonna take a big contract to get him back into coaching.

I'm not real sure exactly what thread to post this, so forgive me if I post it on two or three......

IF Bylsma is fired, it will be the SECOND coach fired in the career of SuperStars Crosby, Malkin, Fluery, and Letang.

I'm beginning to wonder that the Pens' problems may not be the coach......

Coaches in the NHL have a short shelf life. Happens all the time. There's a reason Bylsma is up there on the all time wins list for a Pens coach in such a short ammount of time. Sure the team has been good, but its more a testament to his longevity with the team. Guys like Trotz, Babcock, Lindy Ruff etc that last the better part of a decade are rare.

Keenan looks like he's 5 minutes from needing to be in assisted living. I can't imagine him being useful.

I could see Keenan setting MAF's psyche back a few years, if he were hired.

You could throw Edzo in there too for Crosby, although I don't consider him an NHL coach...actually I don't even consider him a coach. Apparently neither did Edzo as he had zero coaching experience.

Therrien is the type of coach that has a short shelf life. His personality wears thin after a while, although it seems he may have lightened up since he's been with the Habs.

Bylsma was completely inexperienced when he got the job, was wrongly extended, and hasn't proven he's learned or improved enough to keep his job. It's not like we're firing Toe Blake, or Scotty Bowman here, so I don't see the big deal.

Just read articles from newspapers in Washington and Edmonton talking about hiring Bylsma as their next coach. He might be a pretty good fit in Edmonton. They talk him up pretty good here:

Therrien's tenure here wasn't short. It was about average. Plus he was not hired by Shero who may have been waiting for a chance to insert his own guy.

But no, let's blame Sid for this too. Even though it resulted in success.

Let's add that to the rhetoric: Coach Sid, the crybaby, choker, cheap-shotting, coach killing loser. Sounds reasonable. Sucks we're stuck with his contract, eh?

What about Brent Sutter? He was really good in NJ but not so great in Calgary. I think there was an issue with him being away from the Calgary area but maybe he is ready to get back into it.

I don't know about you guys, but when my boss gives me a plan to do something and i know in my head its the wrong way to do something or don't have faith in the plan its hard for me to follow it through. I can see it being the same way for Geno and Sid and the rest of the players under Dan.

I kinda side with the players. Tons of meetings that mean nothing, mission statments that are hogwash, following someone who couldn't pour piss out of a boot with instructions writen on the heel.....

I don't buy the Rossi rumors in terms of the players.

My problem with Bylsma is his use of personnel. I think that can be something that is adjusted. I also do not like how it seems we get outmatched, or the things we like to do are taken away - and our adjustments just don't seem to work. Again, that might be more about how the team is built, it's not flexible enough to really change the way they play. Then again - when the forwards were supporting the puck on the breakout instead of disappearing up ice for some quick north/south action... that was a joy to watch.
