Yep. And wouldn't you if you were funding this insane (in using the true definition of the term in doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results) debacle?

As for me, I don't feel Shero should be fired.

I do. Shero could have overruled DB's game time player personnel choices.

But how often does that really happen? That's Jerry Jones-like.

There is a large difference. Jerry Jones can not be fired.

There is a large difference. Jerry Jones can not be fired.

Based on 24/7 from the Winter Classic, he and Bylsma meet/talk after every game to grade and assess player performance. He's the GM, he can easily say "I want Scuderi out of there, he's a disaster, we need to make a change." He's Bylsma's boss, not the other way around.

And this isn't Jerry Jones-like either; Shero is a hockey guy, not a businessman masquerading as a talent evaluator.

Of course, doing something like that would be acknowledgment that the Scuderi (and other) signing(s) was a failure, so maybe he didn't want to do that. Either that, or he genuinely agreed that the team Bylsma was icing was the best possible configuration of personnel. I don't know which is worse -- a fear of admitting your mistakes leading to you compounding them, or an inability to correct recognize your mistakes. Neither is an attractive option.

Funny thing is, even though the teams from the late 90s very early 00s had many runs in the playoffs but didn't win the Cup, I had so much more fun watching them. Win or lose, I often felt that they at least left something on the ice when it was said and done but lost to better teams. Even in the Gen X days they were dealing with what little they had. Now you have the wealth of talent but it's getting mismanaged, and that is really sickening.

I am expecting Bylsma to be gone, and he needs to be. He could bring a lot of good things to another team.

I'd be more shocked if Shero was fired, though. Certainly he'd be in hot water and will have to answer to ownership for his decision to keep Bylsma, but I'm not sure that will cost him his job just yet. But who knows.

I wanted shero out last year after he blew up the lines at the trade deadline, ending a what, 15 game winning streak? To acquire players who were worthless for most of their imagined sleigh ride to a championship. If he were a chemist, he basically caused his perfectly running lab to explode.
