Ownernship did not fire Byslma because that will be the decision of the new GM, I think it's pretty simple and straight forward.

NO! BYLSMA WASNT FIRED, SO IT'S TIME TO FREAK OUT LIKE A 4 YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!

Are there any on the record quotes to validate this "reporting"?

The problem is that they went in playing like it was game 7... but game 7 of the regular season... not a game 7 of a playoff series.

Why?

If the statement were to the contrary -- "Mario, I want to fire Dan" -- then the response is also "why?"

I don't get all the hand wringing from Pens fans generally over this. The interview process and the prospective GMs statements about what they would do with Bylsma if hired will excellent insight into whether they are or are not a good hire.

Sorry -- I wasn't you personally had a different view, just that generally people are way too fired about this aspect IMO.

I can't wait for Bylsma to fail again next season and see what excuse will be used next season. IT WAS GOD'S FAULT!

:D I think the chances are greater that he has a radical change in philosophy, becomes a converted zealot and designs a completely new system, pitches it to the new GM, and keeps the HC gig.

Wait. Stop. LGP historians:

Has that ever been done before? I mean a coach succumbing to a total philosophical change, not just adjusting the system to the personnel? If so, was it successful (loosely defined) or disastrous? :scared: (Just curious; I remain fairly certain that DB will lose his job.)

At this point, I wonder if DB even wants the job. I can’t imagine a more unenviable position for him to be in should he by some miracle--and that’s what it would take, in my opinion--dodge the bullet. Cheque, please.

Well, Trotz is the lead candidate in Washington per ESPN.

Are you sure the report wasn't about the (Globe)trotters playing Washington (Generals)? :D

Yeah, several sources on Twitter, including Lebrun and Friedman, saying a deal is very close. Looks like Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press has the most on it.

No GM, yet a lead candidate for coach. Sounds like media is bored of the lack of progress in hiring.
