I firmly believe that Bylsma will not be retained. Nothing in L & B's comments suggest it to me.
But I have a hypothetical question for everyone: Suppose DB does stay, the new GM brings in the players for DB's system, and it's brilliant (OK, that's an extreme adjective)? Suppose we win it all next year? Could anyone live with that outcome?
I could, because isn't that the end-game? To match system and personnel in order to win it all? So the starting point comes from the GM side and not the coach side.
My head feels like it's taken too many hits by Marc Staal's stick.
Personally, I would like to see that happen. Dan's biggest problem is that his Plan B, C and D are to stick to Plan A and if that were successful under the leadership of the new GM then there's no reason he shouldn't stay.
