I was tempted to move over to that area. I'm not sure if it was $44 or not, but it was around there. Right now I am 67+ per ticket\per game (I have two tickets). Just really looking to save some cash, while still being an STH.

After 5 plus years on the waiting list, I was able to purchase my season tickets last night. 1/2 season, two seats, section 224, $44/seat/game. I can't believe it took this long, but I'm excited as all!

We moved to 206 this year, row E. Really looking forward to being a little bit closer, but in the 200s the nosebleeds will still set in during the 2nd period.

The stairs in the 200s are so goddamn steep, if you have like 3 drinks you need to be extra careful. This arena was poorly designed.

I'm in the last row in the 200s. I am very thankful for that every time I see someone fall up the steps (not down, have only seen 1 fall down, but you're good for 2 falling up per game).

We are basically at a coin flip as to whether to keep our tickets. The primary reason for keeping them would be that the front office changes renews interest and we can get one more year of making good money off of every game that we don't go to.

While it does mean you have to be careful walking to/from your seats, a steep upper bowl makes other aspects of the experience better.

With a steep upper bowl, it is easier to see over the people in front of you, and it puts you closer and more "over top" of the rink than you'd otherwise.

Also, they couldn't really make the arena bigger to make the concourses bigger since they were constrained by 5th ave, Center ave, and the church. A steeper upper bowl allows for bigger concourses (which are already small as it is) than they otherwise would be if the upper bowl were flatter.

After 6 1/2 loooong years of being on the season ticket wait list, I finally got called up! Kids and wife are very excited!

My "buy" day is coming up next week (Thursday). I logged into my account to see if I could get an idea of pricing so I would be ready when the time came. unfortunately, it doesn't look like there is any pricing info you can look at beforehand. Does anybody have a copy of the season ticket pricing sheet they could scan and post (or send me a copy)? Big thanks in-advance for who ever could do this!

Thanks habe!!!

bova80, Thanks!

Now the suspense of waiting for my selection time this Thursday is going to be killing me! BTW, this years pricing calculates out to approx a 9% increase over last years prices!

dodint,

I was on list for 6 1/2 years. Two years ago, I moved up about 200 slots. From start of last season to getting my letter this year, I only moved up around 100 slots. I was sitting at 1254 when my letter showed up. I didn't think I was going to get the call before I retired in 5 years, based on how slow I was moving up. It appears that they either freed up more tickets or, more likely, a whole bunch of holders bailed..... Supposedly the last few years they have only offered 1/2 seasons. I called the Pens today to verify that full season packages were available (which is what my letter said) and I was told that as of now, full seasons are available.

200 slots, damn. That's a lot of non-renewals. Guess the Bylsma era took it's toll, no wonder both him and Shero are out.

So when the GMJR regime hits it's peak in 3 years or so enough people ought to have dumped off. ;)

I think people jumping off the WL will have a greater effect than established STHs giving up. I thought my position would be listed in my Penguins account but it isn't. Oh well.

Day before I got my letter, I was 1254. As of last time I looked today, I was in the mid 800's. It took me the last three years to move that many slots. I started around #2200 almost seven years ago, dropped about 800 slots in the first two years then pretty much flatlined. Pens must be knocking the list down fast. I also have a feeling I am near the bottom of the cutoff and it will probably be slim pickings by the time I get there.......

Sorry want really questioning you but was curious. If you were even 800 and are getting full season tickets which I know were not offered before it must have been a long summer. Hopefully the new staff can kickstart it into gear although at 10% not sure that is the only issue.

The Pens really hurt themselves by vastly overpricing the playoffs. That plus the team’s dismal playoff showings in recent years, including miserable losses in every home game 7, has STH’s bailing. Many must figure if they can’t afford playoff games and if the games are going to be dreadful, why bother to subscribe to all the regular season games for the rights to buy playoff tix.

The Pens should reward their best customers for the disappointing playoffs by announcing a zero percent playoff price increase, at least for the first round, for this upcoming season. They should announce it now.

I wonder if there still IS a season ticket waiting list. Anybody still on it? What number?
