I thought everyone thought there was no way he'd take less than his 1.7M he was due a raise even...

Good signing, good price.

I think after going from Florida to the Pens, he realized there's something to be said for being on a good team vs. just the numbers on your paycheck. Plus, he didn't have the greatest season due to injuries. Much like Ehrhoff, a one year contract gives him a perfect chance to prove himself by having a good season on a winning team and then cash in. It's a win-win situation for both sides.

I'm just pleasantly shocked the Adams will not be the 4th line center; Vitale, too.

I didn't realize that Goc and Ehrhoff were BFFs. Goc re-signing makes much more sense now.

The Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor!

Seriously, has there ever been a Penguins team with more europeans on it?

I've said a few times Florida overpaid for him when they signed him as UFA. He went from 770K with Nashville to 1.7M with Florida, with no real change in his play, stats, etc. He just happened to be signed by FL the year they went on a spending spree (Fleischmann, Upshall, etc) to get to the cap floor.

His real value was probably between 1.2-1.5M, so nice to see us get him on the lower end.

lol, I kind of feel the same way. I never noticed him from a negative perspective, and never really noticed him from a positive side either. I guess he was "there"?

He's good on faceoffs, can PK, isn't overly physical but will use the body some. He is good for 10+ goals a season, usually 20-25 points, so that is really a bit more than a typically 4th line center. His faceoff ability will be a big asset.

Good signing. They could still use another gritty bottom-6 forward who can kill penalties and chip in a little offensively, though. Like, whoever Tanner Glass is a poor man's version of. Unless they think Comeau is that guy, which seems optimistic.

Bottom-6: Spaling-Sutter-Dupuis/Bennett, Comeau-Goc-Megna/Gibbons, Adams
PK forwards: Sutter, Dupuis, Goc, Gibbons, Adams, uh... Crosby? Do they trust Comeau here? I know he's done it before.

Lol do you remember when the entire roster was made up of eurotrash to appease Jagr and "communicate" with the coach?
