Would explain why he couldn't catch a pass or stickhandle in the playoffs. His touch would have been way off.
Wonder if it was one of Marc Staal's hatchet jobs.

Well, I guess we can stop the speculation on that one.

So much for all the speculation of head\personal problems. Looks like it might have been physical all along.

Why lie about it for so long? I mean, everyone saw he was playing poorly. I don't understand why he'd want to hide it after the playoffs finish... unless he didn't know about it until now?

Maybe because he was trying to not make it an excuse?

This injury obviously happened in the Olympics. He started to defer face offs in the Olympics to Bergeron mid way through. He continued doing this the rest of the season. You do not go from one of the best face off guys in the league to one of the worst over night.

I'm no expert or anything but something I observed during the Olympics and rest of the season.

My guess is that it felt "sore" and he didn't think there was an underlying issue until now.

Another wrist injury we'll never understand. We probably wouldn't even believe it.

Might explain the incessant passing and refusal to shoot.

People turned their backs on the captain. Kudos to the ones who didn't.

He hasn't been lying about it. He was in rehab. Rehab didn't improve the problem. Next step is surgery. Just because it wasn't broadcast from a mountaintop doesn't mean he's been hiding it or lying

Never have, never will. Crosby is far and away the best player in the NHL and his work ethic and passion for the game is unmatched. The negativity/whining that went on about Crosby's play was downright embarrassing, and I'm gonna love reading this thread this afternoon. 8-)

He consistently told reporters that he was healthy through the playoffs. Obviously he was not. That seems like lying to me does it not?

Guess there is nothing to do after you get knocked out of the playoffs.

At least he is not blind too.

Before playoffs or during playoffs when questions started: "My wrist isn't 100%"

Remaining games: whack whack whack whack whack whack etc

Would have been a bigger distraction had he said I'm hurt, would have been a dumb to say what hurt.

Yeah, after watching him get cross checked in the head for almost a month straight in the playoffs, I have no doubt teams would have taken liberties with a wrist injury. There is a difference between being deceptive and an athlete not disclosing injuries
