Last week he needed surgery. This week he doesn't. I don't want to see anyone injured or have difficulty in their recovery from injury. But this is almost too much. I am skeptical. It angers me a bit that I am not sure whether Crosby is telling the truth at all.
Crosby is certainly beginning to wear thin with the off season excuses. Get ready for a "lingering upper or lower body injury (depending on how he hangs his arms)" during the season. I'm thinking he'll start the season, regress to the injured list, come back two or three times during the season, come back at the start of the playoffs. It's becoming quite the Pens tradition.
I think Crosby specificially did not mention the wrist injury in his exit interviews to avoid the appearance of making excuses. His potential need for surgery was leaked, I don't know that he intended to have the media know anything about the situation. So it's no surprise to me that that might not have been 100% accurate, and hard for me to fault him for conflicting information that is circulating.
