So similar the parallels with Crosby and Mario: Both won Cups several seasons into their career, and what followed after that were some great regular seasons marred by various injuries, surrounded by vague and cryptic reports from the organization. Not that they owe any of us an explanation, but it's frustrating nevertheless.

The agent said the therapy is "Some kind of shot. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't".
If Sid is suffering from something like wrist bursitis or tendinitis that has not responded to rest, physical therapy and other conservative treatment approaches, then corticosteroid injections might be the next treatment option. I don’t blame him for wanting to try the least invasive treatments before going the surgery route. All surgeries carry a certain risk and, if they can be avoided, that is preferable.

I just want them to get it right and I want him to be 100% for the playoffs. If he needs surgery in the fall, so what - we’re still more than likely making the playoffs and really, how much has a high seed helped us recently? We won the cup as a 4 seed and have lost with home ice advantage the last 5 years. All that matters is the playoffs!!

I'll break his wrist. I'll go to jail. I don't even care anymore.

I have a bad feeling this is going to come back to haunt him once the season starts, but hope I'm wrong.

Its a point in time thing. Right now, he's not having surgery, nor is he scheduled to have surgery. In 1 minute, it could all change

Chalk me up for the "He'll have an excuse and so will the organization for playoff failure" column.
