Haha i don't understand your gartner hate. I mean i've seen your reasoning before but i mean dayum 700 goals and those wheels?

I get he's not one of those generational talents nor even a superstar, but probably one of the best complementary pieces ever.

If he wants to be referred to as a complementary piece, that's fine...if that's the consensus. But too often, I see him on these all-time lists like he was a somebody...skate really fast down the wing, shoot...got it...and his entire career perfectly overlapped with probably the highest scoring years you can carve out 19-wide...one top-5 finish in goals, and it was a year that Lemieux didn't even really play...never finished top-10 in points (he tied for 10th once, with a guy who played 8 less games)...

For 700 goals, he was just such a non-factor, relatively speaking...there's a 0% chance he's even a top-100 player of all-time...I can't even see a scenario for him in the next 100 names really...

I just looked at his stats and that's pretty friggin' incredible. I'd say he was a bit more than just a complimentary player.

There are only 5 players in NHL history with more goals scored. Again, incredible!

Kulemin will likely out-perform Spaling simply for the fact he'll be playing a prominent role in NY, plus he'll be playing with a quality center.

They're also very different players, so it's not something you can compare straight up.

Kulemin: 65gp 12-12-24 -1 21PIMs 106 hits 14:46/gm 1:48sh/gm $4.2M
Spaling : 62gp 9-13-22 +6 18PIMS 93 hits 15:33/gm 1:58sh/gm $2.2M

Very similar stats for nearly half the price. Made the right choice there... :thumb:

Plus, you might have to go back quite far to fine a "Fleury sucks" post from me. A "Fleury has horrible rebound control" post definitely. I'll give you as far as a possible "Fleury sucks behind the net" post... but to go with just "Fleury sucks" you would have to go back very far indeed...

I'll give you a "Fleury has horrible rebound control." But "Fleury sucks behind the net" has not been the case in quite a long time.

I wouldn't call the beginning of this season a long time... (but note that i have not been critical of Fleury lately either)

He got that one play memorized.

Thankfully it was quickly and easily fixed by a coaching staff.

And if Fleury has horrible rebound control - pretty much the entire league has horrible rebound control... then again - the grass is always greener.

He doesn't have horrible rebound control, but it is below average.
