I HATE Recchi on the penalty kill. We're really going to miss Malone in this aspect, the depth on the PK.

I can't get over how much Malkin looks like Mario when he is carrying the puck up into the offensive zone.

Mostly Whitney. That was MAF's glove side so he could not have sticked it away and the shot hit off the end of his leg pad. Tough to controll those for any goalie. Moore was there too but he reacted way too slow. Whitney's fault.

I think it was soft by Fleury as well. Yes not his stick side but he was a bit out of position and it the shot was everything but a rocket.

Ekman's shot however was wicked sweet

Really? You think the goal by Ekman wasn't weak? I thought it was a very bad goal.

After watching it again I could see that he did'nt pick up on that shot until the last instant. It was'nt an overpowering shot but he did'nt see the release of the shot due to a player obstucting his veiw in the slot.

Ekman used White as a perfect screen. And to top it off he threw a hot on net that was either going in or was going to rebouns right to Staal's stick.

great puck control/foreforecheck by lines 3 and 4, too bad they arent getting any shots out of it. Jarko had one bad angle shot, other than that, zip.

I beleive that Broduer actually instructs his team on how too shoot vs. opposing goalies. They don't put too much on their shots because they know that Marc-Andre's superior reactions will kick the rebounds out of scoring threat range due to that whole every action has an equal and opposite reaction thing. SO by just making sure they get it too the net with some obstruction they can pounce on soft rebounds in the slot.

The awnser to that is boxing them out, and picking up on the rebounds quickly.

Great work in the offensive zone by Moore, Ouellet, Leclair. Give Johnny some props, he's working hard out there....

I am not going to knit pick every bad play that is made, bottom line is that we are getting very close to being a very competitive team. Enjoy the maturation process!

What a big improvement over last year by OLN/Versus. I like their studio crew (I wish they could get Bucci on loan from ESPN, though), and the set actually looks like something built this century.

But still, Max doesn't have the skills that Malone has. Malone is a beast at protecting the puck when he is able to pin it deep in the offensive zone. That and Malone had like 5 SHGs last season.
