We had our chances, they converted, we didn't. Frustrating yes, but I thought we carried the play quite a bit.

Only 1 game. Key points that I saw....
Positives:
Sprong showed he belongs. He needs more ice time and I think in time, he will get it.
Kessel will eventually get those shots in. Nice to finally see someone shoot with that much accuracy.
Geno, Horny and Plots looked a bit better in pre season, but they will be fine.
Bonino had some great defensive plays
Team speed looked great.

Negatives:
NO one touched Benn infront of MAF for the 3rd goal. Both Scuds and Tanger came from the left side. So why were they both over there in the first place?
Scuds still stinks...please let him go and pull up someone from the minors?
Get more traffic infront of the net. Make it harder for the Goalie to not see the shot.
PLots was a tad slow that cost him not getting to the puck when Geno was passing to him. THis was pointed out by the announcers. He is learning, so this will come along for him. He will do just fine.

Again, only 1 game, great matchup for the Pens. Onward to the next one so hopefully with this one done, they will be more relaxed and start to gain some line chemistry that will reward them. Just a matter of time. "Let's Go Pens!"

I didnt see the 3rd period but I thought Maata plsyed well in 1 & 2. He made several strong plays that stood out to me.

Lotsa clutch & grab & hook let go for both sides tonight. Welcome back to 1995.

Only 9 pages for a season opener game day thread. Has to be a record low for this site.

How to let Scuderi go? It's easy, just waive him. Yes you have to pay him but better paying him to do nothing than paying him to hurt your team on the ice.

They are going to be ok. Dallas is a very good team. The one area they better fix fast is the PK. This could be a bad year if they don't fix that.

I noticed that. What about Malkin? I don't remember seeing him shoot at all.

send him to the minors, yes you pay him but maybe he will retire. Or can you send him to the ECHL and force him to ride buses for the rest of his career. From what I seen last night, its time he hangs them up.

4 for Evgeni, 6 for Kessel, 3, for Hornqvist, and shock of the night, 8 shots for Letang.
