Great composure by Dumoulin in the offensive zone there. Would've loved to see him score.

Speaking of Bonino, I really really really like that Plotnikov-Bonino-Bennett line. They've been the Pens' best line since being put together. Just a matter of time before they score one.

Bennett showing some desire... he is an effective forechecker when he throws the body.. They can make a player out of this kid.

So that's not interference on Markov, blocking Cullen the entire way?

Hate to say it but the 3rd line looks just as good as the first and way better than the 2nd. Malkin is invisible. Need to adjust ice time.

Oh and Scuds is horrible.

It's a shame we couldn't have moved Scuderi for Lovejoy. The defense would be so much better right now.

I'm *starting* to think they want to get Johnston fired.

I know it's early, but... :/

We can still win, just need to get some momentum and show a bit of desire out there.

Agreed. Bennett's effort and work rate tonight are noticeably higher than most of the other forwards. He is looking for hits and making smart plays with the puck. Bonino looks much better with those two than he did with Perron on that line.

I'd like to see what Sprong could do up on the 3rd. Porter is not an NHL player but I guess an Ok 15th forward since we have two regulars out.

Wonder how much Dupuis getting hurt seemingly out of the blue hurt morale and the plan coming into the season?

I didn't notice Perron until he lazily went offside and then turned the puck over just inside the blue line in the last minute.

Sigh, i'm afraid not. I tried listening to him after the Coyotes game and turned it off after 10 minutes. Man gives no real insight on the game and is as vanilla as it comes.

Try Sprong on RW with Malkin.

Porter, along with Bennett, were the most active forwards that period. Porter set up Hornqvist for what should have been a tap in. But then he had a bad giveaway to Semin's line on the next shift that lead to extended zone time for the Habs and they eventually hit the crossbar.

This team is emotionally fragile, but they should be able to handle playing without Dupuis by now... and to start a season.
