CF% with 9 minutes left in 3rd

Letang - 87.50% - Crazy!
Dumoulin - 76%
Cole - 75%
Schultz - 72%
Daley - 41.67%
Maatta - 29.17 - awful.

That's 6 straight games where Maatta has yet to be above 50%. This is a damn ugly number and he's put up some ugly ones. Just caved in game after game. But yes keep telling us how Maatta is our 3rd best dman and is playing well.

This team is going nowhere unless he finds his game, the Cole/Schultz pairing gets elevated and handles it, or a trade is made for a 2nd pairing dman to replace him.

Good thing they removed Anderson after seven goals... because it matters now.

Would Ottawa just give us Anderson for Fleury? As a backup Anderson is not bad. And surely Fleury could turn it around in Ottawa or at least I hope someone out there actually believes that.

Anderson is in and out of the lineup and could ask for extended leaves at any time. Not a guy you should count on.

Letang - 87.50% - Crazy!

I don't know anything about advanced stats, but

What's the breakdown on Letang's Corsi if the formula is shots plus missed shots plus blocked shots. I would think he has a huge bucket of missed and blocked shots every game.

Must be partly an attitiude of the willingness to shoot, which I can see why Maatta's CF% would be horrible (Scuderi like numbers).

Maatta's CF% isn't affected that much because of his unwillingness to shoot, he gets a corsi for EVERY shot attempt while on the ice.

I know and I don't care. Jarry can get a hand ful of starts. I just want someone who can be exposed in the expansion draft. Ready to live or die with Murray.

Corsi For. It's an indicator of possession while on the ice. Not the be all/end all, but something to ponder in addition to the eye test.

OK, makes more sense if there is concern over his Corsi. What was Scuderi's last year before he was traded?

It was terrible, and the stats showed that he brought everybody down when they were on the ice with him. Currently Maatta is doing the same. Obviously he's more talented than Scuderi, but his struggles are pretty bad right now.

The goals in this game were scored the five different ways you can score a goal in ice hockey. Rust had three of them: even strength, penalty shot, & empty net.

Great job by Murray. Came in cold and stopped 17 out of 18 shots for the win. The kid is good. Here's to hoping he gets a few more starts moving forward.
