Pens vs Canucks, a 5-2 loss

Something good: They outshot Vancouver 45-37, but digging deeper, the Pens' average shot distance was 27.5' to Vancouver's 41.6'. The Pens were all over Nilsson, getting 18 shots just from the low/mid slot alone, but he was just too good.

Where they need improvement: The Pens were rested, at home, and playing a team that had played the night before at Philadelphia, yet the Pens looked like the more tired team early, getting outshot 12-3 early. That shouldn't happen.

Something good: Jake Guentzel was the only source of offense on the night and didn't look out of place at center. 2 goals on 6 shots, 6 (yes, 6!) hits, 2 blocks and went 3-4 on draws. Good night for him.
