This looks like a Dan Bylsma all-star team. A roster full of plugs that aren't even defensively adept.

If a lack of defensive responsibility is the reason Sprong isn't called up then most of these guys should be in Wilkes-Barre.

One of the problems is these plugs got their name on the Stanley Cup. Who needs to work when you are already a champion.

Too bad they didn't have three days off to fix their problems.

59 on Boston with a nice trip. No call. Not that it would matter.

Here's something I didn't think I'd say today - I'm switching back to watch Pitt because they look like they want to win today.

How Kuhnhackl stays in the lineup is beyond me. I just can't wrap my head around it.

I see no strategy in their game. They dump and don't chase or carry it into the zone, pull up immediately and turn it over.

I know Sully is a genius, but I question his strategy so far.

They're lulling the rest of the league in to a false sense of security.

This game and the Canucks game reminded me of those holiday games during the 1980s and late 1990s when they would just mail in their efforts.

That is not a good memory. Two days ago, Errey offered that the losing result was not the result of a lack of effort, but because of missing pieces.

The problem with this team might well be structural, but I think there is some problem with effort and with team chemistry. The Pens lost a lot of intangibles, mostly grit with the departures of Kunitz, Bonino, and Cullen. And let's not downplay the changes to the coaching staff with the loss of Tocchet. There are a lot of pieces to replace if this team is to make any sort of reasonable defense of its championship.

Letang with a lazy blind pass in front of Murray. Fortunately, no Boston forward waiting for the pass

Switched back from Pitt just in time to see the third Bruins goal. Deleted the recording from the DVR I've seen enough.

Over halfway through the game and the Pens have 7 shots.

7.

Phil makes it 8 and says not so fast Jake.

Board is acting like the Penguins lately. Real sluggish.
