Pens vs Leafs, a 4-3 loss

Something good: Dominik Simon was somewhat of a surprise recall given Archibald is in WBS on a conditioning stint making NHL money. Also surprising was him slotting in on the 3rd line, pushing Hagelin to the 4th. He did a real nice job, earning a promotion to the top line after Hornqvist was forced out by a puck to the head. He fit in quite well with Crosby. He isn't the most talked-about prospect, but maybe he should get a little more attention. He seems like a pretty polished guy.

Where they need improvement: That start was absolutely terrible. Malkin lost the slot guy on the first goal, Jarry gave up bad rebounds on the next two, and no one bothered to bail him out on either. Bad starts got old a while ago and judging by Sullivan's post-game press conference, he's had about enough of them too.

Something good: After they got that stinker of a start out of their system, they played really well. They outshot the Leads 22-9 over the final 40 minutes and outscored them 3-1. If only they hadn't dug themselves a 3-0 hole in the first...
