Devils were sitting at home last night while Pens played a very competitive game against a bitter rival. They came out flat but made the adjustments and looked good in the 3rd. This was the first game against NJ and Sullivan/JR will make adjustments/tweaks to handle the Devils.

Very true, but I just have a hard time with that excuse. You make millions of dollars to play a game... the expectation is you are ready to play every game, not part of the game because you played yesterday. You don't get to play part of a game in the playoffs, and losing games like last nights means no playoffs.

The most bull **** of all of this was this was closer to not being interference than Vegas and Boston two nights ago. ‘‘Tis has Lovejoy pushing Rust into the crease, lifting Rusts stick, Lovejoy doing most of the damage and Kinkaid diving.

Yet we get ****.

Im fine with the call. If it happened to our goalie we'd be screaming bloody murder.

I certainly am not. The only reason Rust made contact the goalie was solely due to the actions of the Devil's defenseman. Rust was skating to to avoid the goalie with his stick down. His path was altered, his stick lifted and hit the unassuming (cough) goalie and knocked him over. The video was crystal clear.

I have no problem with defensemen knocking opposing players into the goalies. Happens all the time. Pens do it too. It needs to be called a such.

Can't help but feel the lengthy treatment of the goaltender - in full view on the ice - does influence that call. While necessary, you might do that at the bench?
