Matt Murray skating before the main group this morning. Working on lateral movement, but still not taking shots. --Jason Mackey

Lines remain the same:

Guentzel-Crosby-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Malkin-Rust
Simon-Brassard-Kessel
Kuhnhackl-Sheahan-Sheary

Dumoulin-Letang
Oleksiak-Schultz
Maatta-Ruhwedel

DeSmith said to be practicing in the "starter's net"

That Monty Python moment aside, Jarry looked decent last game. Keep him in net. Come playoff time, you want people not called Matt Murray to have the necessary experience and confidence at NHL level. It's the downside of not having a leaky veteran as your backup goaltender. You've got to feed them games.

I wonder what the lines will be going into the CGY game. The best, I think, we can do with the current roster is to keep the lines as they are.. so:
- Start Jarry.
- Scratch Rowney.
- Sheary on the fourth line, at the highest.
- Scratch Hunwick.
- Ruhwedel.

And one alteration: remove Sheary from 2PP. Replace with anyone at all, including Ruhwedel or Kühnhackl.

Fine on the lines. I would start Jarry. This isn't a back to back situation or anything.

Return soon Murray!

I would start Jarry also. Have him confident with a win tonight going into Philadelphia.

Jarry was the first goalie off. Bit strange per Mackey. I would expect Jarry though.

Didn't that "starter's net" assessment prove wrong at times in the playoffs? Not that I'd expect gamesmanship at this point, but first off the ice seems like a more reliable predictor.

What WAS strange was walking up Center Ave on Saturday about 4:45 pm and seeing Matt Murray in his car in traffic going to the PPG.

Hopefully Sid broke out of his funk after scoring that OT goal. He sure has looked disinterested these past two games.

Your right, Sid's not been as dynamic as we've seen him, but there is to be something said for saving yourself through the dark days of winter before stuff gets interesting. Plus, he's had a steady stream of different guys to play with.

Yeah it's never good when your Captain wears the same post game hat for 5 years, is borderline OCD, and your coach can't stick with a line combination for more than a half period

I think you're confusing "distinerested" with "focusing on playing better defensively". With the number of odd-man breaks and defensive breakdowns, it doesn't surprise me that Sid took it upon himself to take the foot off the pedal and start passing up scoring opportunities to make sure the defensive zone gets cleaned up a little more.

Looks like Sully listened. Same lines, same goalie.
