Anyone else feel like if we don’t win it in OT we’re going to lose in the shootout?

In the span of 3 seconds, Crosby got slashed and tripped while Hornqvist hot cross checked.

That was the worst excuse for defense I’ve ever seen.

Nice deflection by the ref to give them a breakaway.

I like 72, but not on Sid's line.

His play in that OT with quality guys was not good.

Better an ugly win than a pretty loss.

Let's take our two points, go home with a smile and then head to Philly.

For everyone upset over Sid's lack of offense, I'll point to his line's dedication to a two-way game. Malkin talks the big game about refocusing on the defensive side of the game, but his actions tonight spoke otherwise. I can live with Sid slowing down production if it means reducing the mindbogglingly absurd number of odd-man breaks this team gives up.

Wasn't it his lazy ass being slow to come back that missed the assignment and let a flame score?
If anything bothers me about Sid, he seems to sometimes just watch from behind rather than keep
engaging the opponents breaking out. I can see that in Geno too, maybe this is a sign of the sense
of superstar entitlement. In the particular case, Sid was just one stride away from lifting the shooter's
stick and easily preventing that goal all together, but he was just that much behind because he refused
to take the extra stride.
