Sid's and Brassard's lines are playing great, so if Kessel and Sheahan can hold it down for a little while, the Pens will still be rolling 3 dangerous lines. The Pens are the deepest team in the league up front.

Guentzel Crosby Hornqvist have been solid
Sheary Brassard Rust has really looked dangerous.
Simon Sheahan Kessel should be ok given how good Sheahan is defensively.

Not sure who plays with Kuhnhackl and Rowney.

I feel Sheahan plays better with Kessel than Brassard does with Kessel. I have no statistical evidence to back the previous statement up it's just my personal opinion. Does jooris play with Rowney?

In January, would anybody have cared if Hagelin was out?

Ugh this sucks. I'd rather lose to anyone but the Craps. Pens won a game last year without Crosby and Letang. Hopefully they can win one without Geno.

Is it true Geno hurt himself slewfooting someone? If so, what a stupid, selfish thing to do.

Too many awkward things going on to call that a slew foot. It is standard coached positioning to get your knee in between the opposing player's legs when going into the boards to gain leverage. Anyone who plays knows that. I think Geno misjudged how far he was from the boards and got himself into a compromised position.

Lehtera should have been called for interference. He engages Geno when the puck was in the corner. This caused Geno to lose his balance and fall. Slewfoot, give me a break.

This. I don't see how you could look at that clip and reach any other conclusion. Not to say Geno is a saint (I don't see him winning a Lady Byng any time soon), but this was precipitated by interference against Geno, and not the result of a "slewfoot."

Geno took the morning skate with the team in a Non-Contact jersey. Seemed like he was testing out his leg. He's still deemed out for tonight.

But I'd say this is good news. Wouldn't surprise me to see him in Game 2 on Sunday.

I'm certainly happy to have the extra day off between game 1 and game 2. Healing vibes to Geno!

Evgeni went through the full practice. Power play rushes! Coach said he looked good.
All that, game time decision.
Let's go pens!

He's out and you have to figure they may not dress him until/unless they trail in the series. He hasn't played since a week ago Friday. If he's too injured for game two, how much progress can be made in the next 48 hours?

If he is practicing, you would think he is close.
