SC Playoffs '18 - Pens Poll - Who was Pens 1st Round MVP?

Done this before and found it makes for some interesting discussion, so here we go again. Certainly could add other's to the list, but really its these 3 choices in round one.

Spoiler:
The Conn Smythe can be a tough trophy to award. However, collecting your thoughts after every round might help. Here is the First Round Poll to help you pick your Pens MVP from Round 1.

Crosby was dominant in Philly and game 1 and also game 2 but couldn’t bury one. Jake had one great game, Murray let in too many soft goals to call him series MVP.

You make a good point, maybe I should add a "No clear MVP" option at this point. But let's embrace imperfection, sort of like this Pens club. :pop:

This. Crosby was the MVP, and it's not very close. I would say that Maatta, Dumoulin, and Sheahan are my unsung heroes of the 1st round.

No question for round 1 - Crosby. He was pretty dominant in all games (even when he didn't score). If he's close to the top in scoring for the team, he's probably the MVP because he impacts the games beyond scoring more than most on the team. The only question would be whether the goalie is stealing games...but that wasn't a question in round 1.

The tough thing about a Penguins MVP vote is that it's nearly impossible to not pick Crosby under any situation. If he plays well, he's the MVP because he's the point of the spear. If he plays poorly, it's probably because the other team is basing their game plan around shutting him down, which frees up Malkin or someone else. If he's not leading in goals, he's probably leading in primary assists for whoever the goals leader is. And you could go on and on. Great problem to have. :-)
