What if they made Letang a winger?

Postby Weegie on Wed Apr 25, 2018 11:05 am

We have seen him play it at times in the past, and he seems to be more suited to offense than defense especially of late, but what if they would sometime not now obviously switch him to winger? Maybe he and Sid would have some good chemistry up there, and it would keep his boneheaded plays from hurting as much since he would have defense behind him?

Why or why not?

Nope.

He can't play wing.

Letang really doesn't have chemistry with anyone. It's like they have 4 skaters, a goalie, Kris Letang. I couldn't imagine how much of a liability he'd be as a forward. He could play with 2 Selke candidates and still find a way to hurt them in the defensive zone.

I would just deal him for a winger that fits our needs. Actually I was for moving him with his 7.25m contract for center depth and another serviceable defensive defenseman during the season.

I don't see trying him at another position for any reason.

He’d continue to miss the net with virtually every shot?

and he would continually lose the puck, he is unreal, might still grab a couple decent players in the off season for him.
