What say you after tonight? Washington played a hell of a game.

Agreed. I couldn't believe how many pucks they gave up in the offensive zone in the third period. Every puck that was even close to 50/50 went the Capitals' way.

They did what they needed to..... which is more than they have done in the past. I still don't think they are a great team and certainly not as good as in years past. That may or may not matter as sometimes teams do just enough to win it all and other times very good team stumble when they shouldn't. The only thing certain about a game 7 is that there are no guarantees - heck, look at last year's conf finals against the Sens. They were not a good team at all and they came within a whisker of the Finals.
Personally I'm hoping Kunitz takes them out - a former Penguin denying them would be so sweet. They actually believe they can win so not even making it to the Finals would be soul crushing (and would warm my heart

)

Was not ready last night and won't be ready tomorrow evening for somebody else to hold the Wales trophy.
I still don't want Tampa Bay to win.

Keep it in the metro...until the finals.

Thank God, I thought I was the only person who wanted Washington to win just to see them fall harder when they lose in the finals.

It would be particularly satisfying if they were to be swept again.

The Bolts are going to have to man-up to win the ECF. After last night, I don't see them doing it. It's the playoffs and you know how the NHL will call it - anything short of heads rolling on the ice isn't going to get a call. Just before the Caps scored their 1st goal, they were holding (both arms wrapped around the Bolt) behind the net. Nothing. Tampa is a talented team that is soff. Sorta like Washington in previous years. Tampa lost all the puck battles along the boards; it was almost like they were afraid of contact. If Stamkos wants to lift the Cup this year, he'd better find his courage.

Like I have said all along, Capitals will win the cup, its destiny.
Caps will eliminate all the "3-peat trying Penguins"
1st round: Cole
2nd round: The Penguins
3rd round: Kunitz
4th round: Fleury
Beating their nemesis Marc-Andre Fleury will be the fitting final of the Capitals playoff failures.
The Caps were also 1 of 8 teams to eliminate Daley in the regular season.
Its all written in the books already!

A shame we did not play the Caps in the 1st round when Malkin and Hagelin were healthy, we would had a better chance of denying the Caps the cup. Also we would have faced Grubauer to start the series as well.
Now we have to stop the Caps from repeating next year, which will be very hard. If we fail, it will be a Caps dynasty, god forbid.

LOL. Why was Ovechkin on the ice in a 4-0 nothing game with 20 seconds left? Is Trotz nuts?

Craps haven't won anything yet and you're already crowning them a dynasty? Calm down.

WHY on earth do the Caps get to rest until monday? Should have started on saturday or sunday. Now the caps can go on vacation and rest up! So much for any advantage by clinching early as Vegas did. They have been idle forever when the finals start.

Anyone who rooted got the Caps should have their penguin fan credentials revoked permanently. I don't care the reasoning, that's like inviting satan to your kids birthday.

I wanted them to win tonight. I get to go to all the games in DC. I want to see Fleury skate with a Stanley Cup in person again. Game 6 in DC is my wish.

Tampa shutout in back to back games. Looked nervous. Vasilevsky was leaky. Not impressed. They don’t have the heart.
If Murray and Letang were good in the playoffs we would be off to Vegas right now....back next year!
