Daniel Sprong, 3:37 in total ice time tonight
Dominik Simon, 4:19 in total ice time tonight

It's time to dress Grant, and if that isn't the answer, Rutherford has some decisions to make. Can't go playing only 10 forwards for 80% of your games. Penguins didn't have a long off season of rest to beat 2 years of playoff fatigue for Sully to run the team into the ground. If Sully won't use Sprong, sit him. If Sully won't use Simon, waive him and bring up a Blueger or a ZAR.

The final goal was something I don't think I've seen from Sid in several years. Yes, he's always full of dazzling moves and highlight goals, but it has been quite some time, really in the early part of his career since I have seen him with moves like that.

Penguins win a game where they gave up 46 shots on goal, and their franchise goalie gives up 5 goals again, 16 goals against in 4 games.

Just give it time they said. Jack Johnson will prove 10 plus years worth of data wrong they said.......on for every Oiler goal scored tonight. Common theme. Johnson has been on the ice for 12 goals against at all strengths (highest of Penguins defensemen), and for a guy who is supposed to be a "beast around the net," has been on the ice for 8 high danger (in close) goals against, also highest on the team.

Penguins need to figure out how to not get badly out shot every game, find a goalie who can let in less than 5 goals per game, and a way to play all 18 skaters dressed.

Great post FLPensFan. Johnson is exactly what many said he was, a not good defenseman. Only 4.5 years to go.

I couldnt watch the game because of the job, but when I looked at boxscore, I was pissed off... WTH Sully?! play youngsters or sit them or waive or sent down whatever..
PLAY with 4 freaking lines.. or play 4th line atleast 8-10min per game

He did this last year too, but everyone hand their hand in their pants and said that they sided with the 2 time Stanley Cup winning coach's decision making ability. My #1 whipping boy last year was the fearless leader. While I was not alone on that island, there weren't many.

Glad Sid didn’t turn over the puck on that last shift. Sully had Johnson out there 3 X 3. But jack was only out there for all 5 goals against, I think.

Not sure he’s not much worse than Dumoulin right now. But the money !

80's hockey returns. :D Sid's goal... like roller derby. Go around the players and get more points.

Jack Johnson, well, he will have to improve along the way.

The Edmonton press was impressed: "Sidney Crosby delivered a goal for the ages 2:12 into overtime, bringing everyone in the building to their feet, and then to their knees, when he put a Pittsburgh-flavoured cherry on the best game Rogers Place has seen in a long time."

Dumoulin has been great lately and he and Letang are the only thing keeping this team afloat on the backend. Look at the numbers, it's scary how bad the bottom 2 pairs are, while 8 and 58 have been excellent.
