This is true, however, the analytics guys are saying Pittsburgh gave up a 1st for a guy who has been "sub-replacement level" for 3 of his 4 NHL seasons, and a marginal prospect. (In other words....overpayment).

GMJR has no picks in the first 3 rounds. He’s gotta recoup some picks in future trades this offseason

The 15th for Kapanen is definitely an overpayment

TOR D prospect Jesper Lindgren also going to PIT. Sounds like a first-rounder is key part of return. TOR clearing space

I imagine we will acquire a 1st from either Murray trade or something. Maybe a 2nd.

What were you expecting for the 15th overall? I don't like giving up more draft picks, but there's no way that pick was making the team this season. I certainly don't want to see Simon in the top six anymore.

I remember Aberg playing well for Nashville in our series against them in the SC finals. Righty if I remember correctly, scored some goals for their bottom 6.

I'm leaning towards that way but if Lindgren can grab one of the bottom 2 spots, it wont be so bad. Aberg a dime a dozen. Rodriguez strikes me as a more expensive Simon.

The 15th is a bit rich for Kapanen. I dont mind the player, just think we overpaid

It just dawned on me...Murray is going to Ottawa in some way shape or form. My guess is GMJR wanted to confirm they will get a 1st Rd pick (most likely Islander pick) back in the deal.

Jesse Marshall not happy giving up Filip Hallender.

I don't know what I'm more confused about: the 15th overall pick, or Filip Hallander. The fact that both are involved is almost incomprehensible to me. I'm really not trying to be hyperbolic here but I do not understand any aspect of this trade.

I'm sure all are at 6 feet or shorter.

A totally Useless and unnecessary trade that addresses none of the problems with this team and in fact makes our prospect depth weaker so we are in worse shape today than we were yesterday.

Lindgren is listed a 6'0 161lbs
POJ is 6'2 163lbs

GMJR must be going for the skinniest bottom pairing in the league trophy.

And if Hollander doesn't pan out, the real loss is just the first round pick.

Why would you think that? Neither of them are playing on Crosby's line, I assume Kapanen will be. It might spell trouble for McCann based on cap space issues.

Pontus Aberg- 5'11" 196. Paul Steirgerwald saying he was on the 17 Nashville roster? I don't remember him.

Everything I have read about Hallander points to him being a bottom six type of guy, I guess the question is whether Lindgren is a 3rd pairing guy, or just roster filler. They weren't going to qualify Rodriques which would have made him an UFA.

He's the guy who walked Maatta for the 1st goal in game 2 of the finals.
