Huge, huge opportunity here.

And sweet Slapshot reference.

That was a 5-on-3? I hadn't even noticed, so I assumed it was just the regular PP.

See, when you don't move on the 5 on 3, the defense doesn't move. So you can play pattycake on the blueline all night, but you aren't accomplishing anything.

We didn't shoot. We didn't move. We didn't put traffic in front.

We just stand there, and play pattycake.

Just passin back and forth. Whitney and Gonchar.

Talk about squandering chances. That was absolute garbage.

4 straight blown passes by Whitney on that 5 on 3... great job!

I'm all in favor of Recchi on the left point if I don't have to witness that again.

You got that right.
Horrible 5 on 3
Oullette has no idea what to do out there. If he cant shoot it he is useless on the PP.

Especially when the other team knows only ONE person on the PP is gonna shoot or get the puck. If Whitney doesnt want to shoot then maybe he doesnt belong on the 5-on-3

If you are referring to Malkin being "open" you are dead wrong.

Ouellet's job is to score trash goals, not set the power play up. Yeah, he's useless if our D are going to play catch for 45 seconds on the PP.

I'm glad Afinogenov couldn't/didn't one-time that loose puck. If he could have, that had late goal written all over it.

No I am refering to Whitney passing 6 feet in front og Gonchar 3 times so that Gonchar had to stretch out with his backhand just to get to the puck, and one pass behind Malkin when he was open in the corner area.

If he would have one-timed it from that range and hit Thibault, Marc-Andre would be in net to start the 2nd.

You'd think Malkin and Crosby would be the go-to guys on the PP right? We sit there and all watch Gonchar shoot and wait for garbage goals?? Isn't that what our 2nd PP unit should be doing? Are you telling me that when Gonchar, Malkin, and Crosby are on the ice they're not skilled enough to make a "skilled" play to put the puck in the net?

On Buffalo's 5-on-3 PP the pointman on the touched the puck once or twice. All the action was along the goal crease. THATS a 5-on-3 my friends.

Did Malkin even touch the puck on that 5 on 3? That was atrocious.

Oh that, yeah well on my tv, the camera man has the shakes and he is zoomed in 100000 times the norm. So other than the color of Biron's eyes I don't know what to say.

Those TSN guys totally suck. No respect whatsoever, absolutely pathetic. Malkin, they think, may not use an illegal stick, "but it's close". Well, it's either illegal or it's not and I guess it is not, huh, you idiots? Just one example of their biased stupidity...

Well, that 5-3 wasn't too hot. T-bo is sharp, though.

That is what drives me nuts. We have freaking Crosby and Malkin on the ice at the same time for almost the whole PP, and in all that time Crosby might touch the puck once. Why the hell are we throwing our superstars out there if we're going to handcuff them like this?

Does anyone know if our powerplay was better with Letang in the lineup?

Better discipline in the neutral zone and a better breakout, but overall I'm dissapointed.

When a team like Buffalo takes two penalties in a row, you make them pay.

You don't sit on the blueline and have tea.

It was along the goal crease because our defensmen refuse to skate after them. Or, they know they will only fail to get back into position in time.
