I understand that they want to promote rivalries, but what they need to realize is that 1) rivalries can't be forced and 2) sometimes rivalries become more intense if you DON'T play the rival once a week.

This is what drives me nuts about the way the Yankees-Red Sox games have been hyped the last few years. When you see each other 19 times a year, not all the games can be these epic, knockdown-dragout, all-or-nothing slugfests that the league wants them to be. Again, it's fine if you want to give teams a lot to play for, but the rivalries will generally develop on their own.

The bottom line is: there is nothing you can't solve with 8 games that you could'nt solve with 6.

Why deprive the fans from seeing ALL of the league. I always made fun of baseball for not doing it and now hockey is the same way.

Poti, you dreamkiller.

Poti defends Army the only way Poti possibly knows how to play defense...by hauling a forward off his skates. Thank God we never traded for that clown.

Dang what a win even if they did TRY to show some interest in losing for just a few scary moments there at the end, but they didn't and decided to win it. Too bad for Colby would have been a great way to get the scoring touch back by getting the HT but at least he's on the score sheet now THANKFULLY!!!!!

Sure he played well but a real #1 goalie should play like that every night. They routinely make the saves he made.

"Real" #1 goalies typically aren't 22.

What if they are 25 but pretend to be 23?

I forget if we won, lost or got an over time loss when LeClair sat before. I know we won this game. Just curious what our record is without LeClair in the lineup

Man i wish Colby would've just plunked that one in from the blue line. Would've been great to see him get a hat trick (would've been the 3rd one for the Penguins' so far this season).

Pretty good effort by everyone and it's plain to see the extra play they get with crosby in the lineup in close games. Shame he wasn't hea;thy for the last 3. Let's hope he isn't hurting too badly now.

The reason I am quoting this is because I was at the game and I saw this exact play happen. And if Whitney fires that puck, he has a pretty good chance of scoring.

I looked at my watch to gauge what time it was so I could come on here and gripe about his play.

I also want to say that I wish I had the internet on my phone so I too could have come on the site and said the exact same thing.

Ryan Whitney has now decended to a level that is the lowest of the low and only one other Penguin in the history of my time as fan has decended that far.

That player is Drake Berehowsky.

I now hate Ryan Whitney as much as Drake Berehowsky.

And boy did I hate the Drake.

Good job skip. Are ya feelin' it enough to give it another go on Friday, or is it too early too tell?

Wow. If I ticked people off by suggesting he could end up being another Tom Poti, I would imagine a Berehowsky reference likely caused a few embolisms.

I was gonna come up to say hey, but the comfort of the luxury box was too much for me to leave.

Actually, it sucked. I was with a bunch of suits that knew nothing about the sport.
