How can we get 10,000 people to show up at the hearing????

Postby spi on Thu Feb 23, 2006 7:45 pm

Just watched the pittsburgh first video. Does anyone have any ideas of how we can mount a campaign to get 10K people to the PA Gaming hearing? This is THE opportunity to show the support for the pens and IOC.

If 500 people show up for this one, we are in trouble.

We need to somehow get the media to send the message that if you dont want your taxes to pay for the arena, this is your opportunity to "vote" on it and vote for the IOC deal.

Well, I'm gonna be at the hearing if I'm speaking. I sent my application in Tuesday. The only way I would be allowed to go, since it's at 8:30am, would be if I'm speaking, cause I have school.
Hmm...a way to get a lot of people at the hearing. I would say post stuff about it everywhere, make flyers, have it announced at a lot of Penguins games, have it posted on the Penguins web site, that's all I can think of right now.

well maybe NOT flyers.... can we call them 'handouts'? After all, it is a Pens related issue!

The only way to get 10,000 people there is if Big Ben and Troy show up to speak, sad to say. Or maybe if Clemente is exhumed.

You could get 10,000 sheets of cardboard, make 10,000 photos of people and glue them to the cardboard. Then, get to the rally really early to set up all those people....

Whalla! 10,000 people at the rally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait...no body??? Maybe he is still alive like Tupac?? If we could find him and get him there, I bet that would bring a lot of people. Plus a ton of media members!

Yeah Clemente is living on the same island with Tupac, Elvis, JFK, and every other famous person who is actually dead but everyone claims is still alive.

That's the only reason it would help attract 10,000. Of course, they would all be Puerto Rican.

Actually, Kennedy is a black man in an old folks home in Texas and Elvis is his friend.
