Day, the only "Pittsburgher" on the PA Gaming Board is black (Sanford Rivers).
The IOC was proposing a slots parlor in the Lower Hill, a predominantly black neighborhood.
Lower Hill residents (about 70 of them) "protested" a casino in their neighborhood.
Rivers "heard" their protests and championed another licensee through the process.

It's more than just Barden the carpetbagger, who is black. Race permeated the IOC's campaign and most protests against it.

Ah, I never thought about flooding. What happens when there's major rain/snow runoff and the river rises like it did a couple of years ago? IF we ever get snow.

I never thought I would say this... All I want for Christmas is lots and lots of Snow/Rain...... so that the north shore can be flooded for a week or so.. but my prayers never get answered...i.e. IoC No deal...

Wasn't Barden's group the only one that was not going to build a temporary casino? They were going straight to a permanent, but smaller casino to get more revenues quicker than the rest.

Oh yeah, THIS SUCKS!!!!!

"The Penguins brass is reportedly meeting Wednesday after the Pittsburgh Gaming Board's rejection of Isle of Capri's bid."

From the Associated Press.

It's the PENNSYLVANIA Gaming Board. The only Pittsburgher on the board is that idiot Sanfro Rivers

to play devil's advocate....if the IoC wins the license, Rev Johnnie Monroe would be saying about the gentrification caused by the white decker using the casino to enforce the caucasoid empowerment by providing gambling to the lower class blacks.

///i think the race issue in the slots licensing is a little overblown

Tom Murphy just stated that IOC was the best plan on WTAE.

A little late, Murph.

Wait, are we supposed to read other people's opinions? I though you were just supposed to come on here and rant about the same thing over and over.
