Great article. Basically summarizes the last 30-40 years in PGH.

I can't wait for the political battles between Swann and Rendell.
I hate the fact the Republicans have offered up a celebrity with zero public office experience to go up against an established Democrat from Philadelphia.
Being an Independent really sucks this year. Luckily, I have till November to get a good read on Swann's agenda because I am not buying a single word of Rendell's message.
It will be curious to see who the Penguins side with in the race considering the Democrats hold the cards for the slots license.

The Pens will have to stay on the sidelines on this one. I doubt that Swann is going to make an issue out of any individual slots venue, since what we are seeing here is probably going on at every other site as well. Plus, the Pens have already gotten the people in power pissed off, and I don't think they want to do that again.

i believe Swann is against slots gambling. If he is elected, I don't think it will help the Pens all that much. But getting Fast Eddy out of office is never a bad thing.
