Make your Penguin deadline picks here

Postby ville5 on Sat Mar 04, 2006 12:12 pm

Recchi and 3rd to Ottawa for Bochenski and Malec.

LeClair to San Jose for the rights to Alex Korolyuk and a 4th.

Jackman to Tampa Bay for a 3rd.

And, Gonchar to Columbus for Lindstrom and Tollefson and possibly bad contract.

Gone:

Recchi
Leclair
Jackman
Melichar

All 4 will have some value to a playoff team to provide depth but don't expect to get anything good coming back in return.

Recchi and LeClair are the obvious two.

Two of Jackman, Tarnstrom and Melichar may go.

And a whole load of draft picks/prospects coming in...hopefully there may be some decent players coming in.

I doubt we'll see any of the "fringe" players depart until the season's end.

I wouldn't mind that Ottawa deal at all. Not sure of Korolyuk's situation, but I seem to recall he's a nice player too.

Duh.

I meant Gonchar. I've been focusing to much on trying to shift Tarnstrom on NHL 06...

Where's the ****** icon. Give me a punch whilst I'm at it. I've had a throbbing headache all day...hangover.

BP - Just so you know, Tarnstrom was traded to Edmonton for Jani Rita.

here's some wishful thinking...

Recchi to Buffalo for Maxim Afinogenov
Malone to Boston for Sergei Samsonov
LeClair and Melichar to NY Rangers for Tom Poti and Marcel Hossa
Jackman to Tampa Bay for Ruslan Fedotenko

...then CP woke up and the deadline passed without a move made.

Just remembered, thanks Bowser. Cross was part of the deal as well wasn't he? I can't believe I made such a gaffe.

Recchi for Marcel Hossa. Hossa is a good young finisher who has a decent work ethic. I don't know why NYR would do this, but it's worth asking.

Recchi for Bochenski OK
LeClair for Umberger OK ;)

If Philadelphia gets Bertuzzi...you can forget ditching John

I don't think any other team will want Leclair

Hossa has been a big disappointment for the Rangers this year. We already took on Rita, no point in picking up everyone's garbage.

Even though it was just a BS rumor by a SI writer, a guy like Downie from Philly for Recchi would be something that would work for this club.

Theres a big difference between taking young crap and young prospects under the guise of "building for the future". Remember the Jagr trade?
