the difficult thing in giving you information/tips/strategies is that the wolves/slugs will read this and follow suit. so, in short, the best way is to jump in the deep end and swim. after the game, however, i can give you some things that i look for.

The villagers all wake up this morning to find three tracks in the dirt… slug tracks. But two of them are small. It could only mean one thing: BRAIN SLUGS!!! Two people have been turned into mindless slug drones overnight and have no doubt made the full conversion into Beta Slugs! The village is furious and confused… then they found out about the tracks! Oy!

They begin to argue over where the tracks lead. Many of them also start drinking even though it’s not even lunchtime yet. The booze is running low… rage is running high.

Day 1 in the Village of Nomsburgh,

I'd think that the alpha would spread out his/her choices and take one high profile slug to help the game and then take a quiet person to fly under the radar.
