Las Vegas Wranglers @ Alaska Aces
Monday, April 24 Las Vegas Wranglers (5) @ Alaska Aces (0)

The Las Vegas Wranglers (4-3, Series 1-0) defeated the Alaska Aces
(4-0, Series 1-0) 5-0 at Sullivan Arena in Game One on Monday night. Las Vegas
goalie Marc Magliarditi made 29 saves for his second shutout of the playoffs,
leading Las Vegas to a 1-0 series lead. Five different goal scorers lit the lamp to
lead the Wranglers to their second playoff shutout in their last three games.
Forwards Sean O'Connor, Marc Peluso, Steve Crampton, Derek Edwardson and Charles
Linglet all scored in the victory. Game 2 is set for Tuesday night at 8:15 (PT) at
Sullivan Arena.

In the first period, Las Vegas scored the only goal of the period to take a 1-0 lead
into the first intermission. Center Derek Edwardson held the puck in the Aces zone
on the right wing, then rimmed it deep in behind the Alaska net. Right wing Sean
O'Connor picked up the puck, carrying the puck to the goal-line and flipping a puck
just under the cross bar, beating Matt Underhill for the 1-0 Las Vegas lead at
12:56. Alaska outshot Las Vegas 12-4 in the opening period.

In the second period, Las Vegas pushed their lead to two goals as former Alaska Aces
Charles Linglet rifled home him first of the playoffs. Linglet cut through the
right-wing circle and snapped a shot into the upper-left hand corner of the net,
beating Underhill blocker side at 3:32. Just under ten minutes later, Las Vegas
struck again as beat Underhill with a snapshot from the left-wing circle that zipped
in under the crossbar at 12:28 for the 3-0 lead. Center Derek Edwardson extended the
lead to 4-0 with some help from Todd Alexander at 13:14. With Alexander camped out
in front of the Aces net, Edwardson used him as a screen snapping a shot past
Underhill just 1:14 after Peluso's goal.

In the third period, Steve Crampton carried the puck in over the Alaska blue line
and blasted a shot past Matt Underhill at 4:28 for the 5-0 final.

The West Division Finals will shift to Las Vegas on Thursday, April 27th at 7:05 pm.
Game 3 is schedule for Thursday, April 27th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena. Fans
are encouraged to bring boxes of Macaroni and Cheese to use as noisemakers during
the game. After the game, the boxes will be collected and donated to the Clark
County Food Bank. Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at 7:05 pm at the
Orleans Arena. Fans are encouraged to wear white to "white out" the Aces.
