I never understood the open end of the stadium oe the open corners at the far end... wasted space whne you consider they definately sell out...

I'd imagine kickers wouldn't mind having the end closed, too.

I think Jeff Reed has finally gotten used to the open end. Having that is a definite home field advantage. I think only one field goal over 45 yards (or close to that) has been made by an opposing kicker at Heinz Field.

Of course closing the end of the stadium could help home field advantage by increasing the amount of crowd noise. Having been in both Three Rivers and Heinz Field for Steeler games, Three Rivers was definitely louder.

But the new seats are not going in the open end anyways according to a graphic in the Post-Gazette. did anyone else notice that their website is now www.post-gazette.com?
