Verizon ring tones...

I saw the other Verizon thread and figured I would ask mine question...

I heard someone's phone ring and it was the Darth Vader's theme from Star Wars. How do you get that? I surfed a couple sites real quick but they seem to want to add horriscopes and joke of the day and blah blah blah extra charges to your download. I have never downlaoded anything into my phone, or sent a single text message, so I do not know anything about the procedure.

Any help?

Normally you can get ring tones directly from Verizons Site. The selection won't be as robust, but they'll always work and the billing is simple. I don't know if they carry the Darth Vader theme or not, but mine plays "I heard it through the grape vine"

As for text messaging. I love it. But be careful, it gets VERY addictive.
I liked it so much I tossed my cell phone and bought a CrackBerry (BlackBerry) now I can get email or even surf the web anywhere!

This sounds great, but be careful, people expect to be able to get YOU anytime anywhere now. I always had a problem with that. I spend hundreds of dollars a month to keep myself connected WHEN I WANT TO, not so others can contact me whenever they want to.

My sister works for EDS and I agree. I wouldn't want the blackberry traffic she gets at the most inappropriate times of the day from clients. Imagine being at your mothers funeral etc. I guess the right answer is to just leave the blackberry somewhere, far away from your life (bottom of a pool). Problem here was her husband and kids were trying to fly this way, with many delays, so she was carrying it for updates.

So just turn off your phone while you're in the bar (or anywhere else you don't want to be disturbed). Or with customers, set firm hours and stick to them. What's not to like?

I tried that, didn't seem to work. My customers seem to understand when you tell them you were out... but once they know you have a BBerry and *can* be reached, they take offense beng told not to. Plus, I *do* want to be reached for a family emergency etc..., I do try and use caller ID as much as ossible, but there are even ways around that...
