Current video game being played

Just started CODBLOPS II. Two missions in, and it's insanely stupid. *sigh*

I've enjoyed COD since the beginning, even the transition to Modern Warfare, and I thought the first CODBLOPS was absolutely horrible, so I never bothered with II. Keep in mind I play them stricly single-player, but I struggled to even get myself to want to finish the first one. People into that kind of multi-player may feel differently, but single-player wise, it represented everything that is wrong with current generation first-person shooters. Blah.

That's how I felt, as well. And BLOPS II is worse.

Ever since Treyarch took over the franchise, the games have been crap. It would have been like Paramount having Michael Bay direct and Indiana Jones movie...... which actually might not have been a bad idea, in retrospect........ but anyway, you get my point.

Treyarch has only done BLOPS and World at War (my personal favorite). MW2 began the Michael Bay Video Games we know today.

They actually did COD 3 a few years before BLOPS, which I think was the beginning of the end. And I don't think the nonsense in MW2 comes anywhere close to the shenanigans in the Treyarch games.

They did, starting with Treyarch and COD3...but MW3 was not fully done by IW - that is when all the arguments started occurring and a lot of IW left and Sledgehammer and Treyarch assisted with that one. I dont remember the specifics, but IW is not really IW nowadays - and who knows (does anyone know?) what the next supposed IW game is going to be? I was under the impression MW story line ended with 3.

As far as single player/online - Blops II starts kind of slow, but gets better (IMO) as you go on...some cool stuff that is fun but in the end, not a lot has changed on these games since MW1...there is no real "history" correlation anymore so it can get tiring. If my old college buddies didn't get it early so we all could play MP together and basically catch up with each other/make fun of each other - I definitely wouldn't pay $60. I would probably wait for a price drop and have some fun with single player (worth $30, not $60). I get tired of the same old crap in MP so the novelty of a slightly new system and changed maps for MP wears off quick as the games go on...its still MW1...slightly different.

got Balloon Fight yesterday. so nice being able to customize buttons and play on the gamepad, virtual console is going to be really great when all the titles release.

I hadn't played the newest incarnation, and really haven't played any since the second expansion fro Medal of Honor Allied Assault, but that's kind of sad. MOHAA was such a great game. EA had a contest where a community member could design a map/level that was included in a future expansion. Cool idea.

I've never played GTA Vice City. Is it worth going back and playing, or will it look too dated?

Vice City was a blast. I am sure it will look dated, but it was so much fun.

My mother in law just gave us her new desktop b/c they bought 2 and don't need them both (complicated story, so let's leave it at that). Looks like I may be able to play some PC games now. hp pavilion HPE h8-1117c. I know minimal about PC specs, but it's an i7 quad core with 8 GB ram. I just don't know how solid the graphics card is but given the rest of the computer, I'm assuming it's capable of playing most games.

Got cod blops2 on sale for ps3 this week....my first current gen console FPS.
The missions are a little disjoined, but the gameplay is fantastic.
I tried some team deathmatch and it was pretty fun.
As a long time mouse and keyboard guy the dual shock takes some getting used to.
