Beat Yeti and Yeta in snow sledding and got a heart piece. Took a few tries, but not too bad. Did some fishing stuff last night too since I got home late and just wanted to undwind for a few minutes. I'm on state 1-7 on that stupid rollball game to get the frog hook. I'm stuck on that one.

I think I've caught every type of fish.

BTW, I was playing that Rollgoal game at the fishing hole and flew threw levels 1-6. I got to level 7 and spent like 30 minutes just driving myself nuts. There is a ramp, and then only a small stop point on a curve towards the end and I can't beat it. GRRRRR. I want to get that frog lure, but that is one thing I may have to either wait or just pass.

I'm still on the adventure. Just got bigger wallet, now going for extra magic meter, largest wallet and more heart pieces (seems like I don't have very much life). Do you need the treasure charts to find those specific treasures or could the shiny sparkles in the water be those as well?

So as I was riding my boat searching for submarine scraps in GTA 5, I decided to ride out to the deep sea area and take a dive.

With my oxygen tank, I kept diving deeper and deeper to see if I could reach the bottom. As I descended the water became progressively darker. Then, all of a sudden, I started to rapidly lose health. Quickly, I tried to swim back up before I died.

It's amazing that RockStar included a water pressure mechanic to an area that may never be explored.

After being largely let down by the final 1/3 of Assassin's Creed III, do I make the commitment to AC4 Black Flag on Tuesday? By far my favorite part of AC3 were the naval battles, so I'm keen to revisit that gameplay. But a 20+ hour campaign?

That said, advance word is that it's pretty excellent.

I downloaded Halo 3. After being hugely into Combat Evolved on the original Xbox, playing tourneys and that sort of thing, I haven't played any other Halo game. After about 20 minutes of matchmaking on 3, I've never felt so terrible at a video game. Yikes. I've gotten so used to CoD style.

I didn't like the naval battles in 3. I hated most of them actually. I still love the series though so I'll probably pick it up.

The naval battles are the best part of 3. They got rid of the best part of 2 of recruiting assassins then sending them on random missions, and if they failed they died. It added a strategic element instead of the current method.

Meh I play Assassins creed to run around and assassinate people, not do ship battles. That's just me though.

A new rumor making the rounds on the internet is touting the idea that Nintendo will be making a “ReUmagined” series in which the company gives seven Nintendo 64 games “the Wind Waker HD treatment,” remaking them in HD to be sold on the Wii U eShop. Supposedly, Super Mario 64 would be the first title, followed by six others, and all seven games would feature new content and retail at $30. The idea is that Nintendo would be filling gaps in their Wii U lineup of games by re-releasing the old N64 classics.

While I like the reimaging, it just seems like Nintendo has run out of ideas for new games, and their core series are taking too long, so they have to do this.

It is neat, but it is not going to get me to buy the system.

Official PC specs for COD Ghosts

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 40 GB
Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 450 / ATI® Radeon™ HD 5870 or better
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
DirectX®: DirectX® 11
Internet: Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer

That is..... robust. Especially the 64-bit OS requirement and 40 gig (!) install footprint. (most of which is probably that stupid dog)

The last two PC games I played were Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3. My system handled them pretty well, even at high/max settings. But I'm scraping in one level above minimums on the gfx card.

I'm still holding out hope that one day Nintendo will develop software across all platforms. I'm not buying a wiiU just for Mario and Zelda.

I specifically bought a nintendo for mario and zelda, but I don't get to play a lot. This reimaging of older games is great for me as it will keep me busy in between mario and zelda games. I'm ok with them taking long too make these games if they are good. I also realize that I'm not the ideal candidate for any consol being successful, so until Nintendo gets a bit smarter, I'll just enjoy the slow death of the company.

Since we had the NBA Jam reference in the age thread:

Best/Favorite team to use?

I have to go with Golden State, controlling Chris Mullin. Rain 3s.

I read one early PC spec sheet that said a GeForce 780 was recommended. That's a $500-600+ card...glad they ratcheted it down a notch.

I am eagerly (understatement) awaiting BF4 on Tuesday.

I'm in the middle of a PC rebuild:

With AMD's Mantle (system? software?) coming for BF4 in December, I should be good to go for a while. Mantle will allow direct "writing" to the GPU card, bypassing DirectX, allowing for more performance and better framerates - it's similar to what consoles have. No software (or limited ) barrier between the game and hardware.
