I decided to go with the Chilean Sea Bass instead.

You say Chilean sea bass, I say Patagonian toothfish.

When I was younger, the first time I ever heard of the thing was in the movie "Jurassic Park" when Hammond tells them their head chef Alejandro is making (what I thought was) 'chili and sea bass'. Which sounded awful.

I wasn't planning on getting a 3DS any time soon... then I saw best buy was selling a 3DS XL bundle for the new Zelda game... and my will power was gone. DS is gold w/ a triforce design on it... that may have contributed to the decision.

I got it. It's fun but will take some getting used to. The load out stuff is far more confusing than the create a class. Also seems harder to unlock items.

Going off topic here, but when Jurrassic Park came out I distinctly remember everyone in the theater being disgusted when they showed the scene with the Chilean sea bass.

I watched the movie about a month of two ago, and the Chilean sea bass actually looked really good. I thought it was amazing how everyone's taste has changed since then. During that time, nobody could stand the thought of sushi, and now they sell it at freakin Consol Energy Center.

$220, and I won't be able to tell you for awhile... it isn't being released until the 22nd... and not sure when I will receive it. You could probably spend less and get a non-styled 3DS (or even a 2DS which is only like $130) and get the game itself for $40.

I like Zelda enough to go for the gold (literally).

The game is supposed to be set in the world of A Link to the Past.

The campaigns got progressively worse with each release. MW1 was solid, MW2 was meh (mostly it was saved by the favela map), MW3 was terrible.

I've read that the Ghosts campaign clocks in at just about 4 1/2 hours. I will not be buying it until the price comes down; no way I'm paying full price for that little content. (Multiplayer is useless to me) My company tried putting out a five-hour game at a $60 price point last year, and it was a complete dud. (In the U.S.)

I'm pretty sure you're part of a very small minority that cares about the campaign and and even smaller minority that thinks Multiplayer is useless. Of course, i'm part of that same group. :pop:

with Call of Duty topping $1 billion on first day of sale, does anyone have any idea on how much it costs to make a game like this?

Just to support the $1bn note:

Call of Duty: Ghosts sales pass $1 billion worldwide
Activision expects Ghosts to be most successful next-gen launch "by a wide margin"

Activision has sold-in $1 billion of Call of Duty: Ghosts to retail worldwide for its first day of release.

That's according to the publisher, which also highlights the game's number one ranking on Xbox Live, and the most pre-ordered release at US retailer GameStop.

Letang Is The Truth wrote:i think GTAV was 250M-300M

GTAV was an outlier in terms of budget; it was seriously close to two times more expensive to develop than the previous record holder. (I have reasons to doubt the public numbers touted for Star Wars: The Old Republic) By the same token, CODG is one of the first titles developed for next gen consoles, which means there's a new rendering engine and other tech costs. That will gradually become less and less of a factor as the XBONE and PS4 mature, but first time out of the gate they're going to be costly. And let us not forget Riley the wonder dog....

I wouldn't be surprised if the dev budget was north of $200 million, but probably not the $265m that GTAV cost.

The best estimate on GTAV for development and marketing is 265M, and it is considered to be the most expensive game ever produced. My guess is the latest CoD is in the same ballpark, but a bit less. Either way, they have already made a tidy profit off of the game. Nice work if you can get it....

Got a check today for $5.85 from a class action lawsuit against EA. The suit was about their monopoly on NFL football games. I could have received more money, but I only had 1 eligible Madden game. You were awarded a certain amount of money based on each edition of Madden owned before a certain date.
