Went to a trade-in store the other day to look at old video games because I was hoping to pick up a copy of Super Smash Brother's Melee, and I noticed the good Gamecube games are rising in price. All of the major titles I saw were at least $50 which defeated the purpose of me trying to get an old game for cheap.

Hold onto your old games I guess.

I was able to turn about 8-10 Gamecube games I have doubles of into a Mario Kart 8 WiiU bundle a few weeks ago.

Sniper Elite III is pretty fun. The AI can be dumb at times, but it never gets old shooting a guy in the testicles from 200m away and seeing an xray up close shot of it. You would think it does, but it doesn't haha.

Where was this? I have ~25 gamecube games collecting dust, and no gamecube.

I sold them to somebody on a video game related website www.cheapassgamer.com.

The ones I had were:

Super Mario Sunshine
Metal Gear Solid
Mario Kart Double Dash
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker
Paper Mario

And a few more but nothing as good as the ones above.

I just sent a pic of the spines of all my gamecube games to the warp zone in greensburg. I really want to get rid of the old video game clutter. I have all these gamecube games, but my gamecube was stolen years ago. I also have a bunch of dreamcast games and accessories.

I collect vintage video games. Have about 20 systems or so. I recently decided to scale down and focus on consoles and get rid of the hand held systems. Traded my PSP w/box and 18 games for $400 worth of lawn care (10 sessions). I think we both came out as winners on that one.

I found my sons up at 7 am playing the Wii...for the first time in forever. Super Mario Smash Bros Brawl. They were having a blast with it.

I wonder if the 3DS version is worth picking up for them?

Kerbal Space Program 0.24 (nicknamed "First Contract") is now live. New contract and reputation system for career mode, a couple new engines and parts (like Vernier motors for steering large rockets), and KSP is now running on a 64-bit version of the Unity game engine.

I do, but I have all of those already. I'm up to 430 regular NES games and 50 N64 games (all of th expensive ones pretty much).

I know I'm never going to get the full NES collection unless I luck into Stadium Events (currently just cart sells for $5-6K), but I'd like to get the full N64 collection. There are offically 296 games for that system. I got almost all of the high end ones, so hopefully from here on out, I can just buy bulk.

Pretty much any popular game at the Exchange or other chain stores like that for old systems are $50. The Mario's, Zelda's, etc.

I'm sort of lucky because I got most of those games for like $20 a few years back, but I'm kicking myself for not getting the Zelda OOT and Majora's Mask combo for Gamecube, and Luigi's Mansion. I saw Luigi's Mansion for $7 a few years back and passed because I thought it would go down. Now it's like $40.

I walked into the Exchange on McKnight the other day and every single NES game, no matter how crappy, was a minimum of $10.

I'm lucky I got most of mine before the huge price spike. Most I got for free right after collect when my buddies were getting rid of them, or got them cheap at flea markets. Now I wish I spent a little more money on some games I passed on that I thought were too expensive at like $40-50 back then. Now they are going for $300-500.

I'm sure this will shock everyone, but I don't like the new contract mode in Kerbal Space Program. Basically, the game offers you money (which you need to build your rockets) if you test certain equipment in a certain way. For example, you might need to use a decoupler while in flight at a certain altitude range. The problem is that except for a handful of fixed contracts (like ones wanting you to orbit the planet), the contracts are procedurally generated. As a result, they often make no sense whatsoever. For example, I'm getting contracts asking me to use a certain part while splashed down at sea, or to use a certain part at a very narrow range of altitudes. But those tests make no sense in the context of a larger mission, and it seems silly to fire off a rocket just so you can decouple it somewhere between 14,500 and 15,500 meters in altitude.
