It's a holiday weekend, so I decided to open a 2008 bottle of Dogfish Head Fort that I've had on by rack for quite a while. It has not suffered in the slightest over these years. After five years, it's still aggressively fruity, with the raspberries almost giving it the smell of a fruit smoothie. Color is a thick, opaque reddish gold; not see through even in front of a bright light. It has dried out some from younger Forts I've sampled, although there is still plenty of sweetness. The ABV is impressive. I've only drunk half of the bottle and this stuff is kicking my butt. Thank goodness for spell-check.
