I realize that this is the wrong thread, but someone gave me a bottle of single malt scotch.

Even the craphole bar that I worked at cleaned their lines once a week and we might have pulled in 2500/wk tops.

Just had the Stone Enjoy By 09.13.13 on tap. Very very hoppy. If that's your thing you'll love it. I'm middle of the road when it comes to hoppy beers but I really enjoyed this one.

Picked up a sixer of Victory Festbier. A little different take on an Oktoberfest but still good.

Big beer day. Homebrewing and drinking awesome beers. Here is some of what I had...
Red Brick 16th Anniversary
Left Hand St. Vrain Tripel
Rogue Beard Beer
Red Brick Lost Years
Founders Imperial Stout
Westbrook Gose

After we brewed we then walked up to the growler store and sampled a ton of beers. Also got a growler of Bruery Rugbrod. Really like that beer.

Just found a near perfect Ommegang sampler case. Gnomegang, Hennepin, Rare Vos, and Witte. Ideally replace the Witte with Three Philosophers, but for $62 not bad at all.

Picked up a four-pack of 21st Amendment Marooned on Hog Island. It’s an oyster stout made with real oyster shells. The oysters give it a noticeable saltiness and a faint but not unpleasant sweetish flavor. It’s a decent beer.

It’s really not fishy at all or anything like that. I bet if I gave someone a glass to sample and didn’t tell them in advance what was in it, he would never guess it was made with oyster shells. Also, if I remember my Michael Jackson books right (the dead beer writer, not the dead creepy singer), there is a long history of both serving stouts with oysters and using oysters to brew stouts.

I had Flying Dog's Oyster Stout last year, and I hate oysters. Agree with Shyster, you would honestly never know it was brewed with oysters. Tasted like a typical stout to me, albeit a bit different.

Awesome. When I visited the brewery last winter, we brought home a sampler 12-pack with the same composition (albeit for significantly cheaper than you paid, which is understandable). Agree on replacing the Witte as well.

You really have to do their tour. The tap room afterward is awesome, you get to try all six of their primary beers, starting with the Witte and finishing with the quad. Then, the restaurant is simply awesome, great Belgian menu. Croque Madame is fantastic.

Thoughts on the following Ommegang offerings:

Abbey Ale
Witte
Act of Darkness

Saw them at a bottle shop and will be going back later this week.

No, it's brewed with brewer's licorice? (I hate licorice and loved the stout, you would never know it was licorice).

Picked up a 6 sampler at the local Kroger. Their selection wasn't too bad overall, but they were missing a lot in their "make your own 6-pack" area, so I got what I could. Their choices were very lager and IPA-heavy. Not too much in the way of stouts (though I figure if I want to look for stouts, Kroger probably isn't my best bet).

Bell's Oberon
Shiner Bock
Great Lakes Eliot Ness
Brooklyn Lager
Elevator (local Columbus brewing company) Heiferweizen
Elevator Dark Horse Lager
