Bells Expedition was awesome. I love me a nice Russian Imperial Stout, could survive all winter on these

Had my first Mad Elf last night and I LOVED it.

Also tried Great Lakes Christmas today, and it was really good.

Unexpected surprise today... Gave a co-worker a White Lightning on Friday... He returned the favor by giving me an Iron Maiden Trooper beer. I have no idea if it's any good, but the bottle is awesome.

Just tried Staropramen for the first time; delicious Czech lager, 5% BAC, comes in 17-oz bottles. Makes for very happy sportsball watching.

Any big stout drinkers out there? I am not one (yet), but have been trying to get into them more. I picked up a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout and a Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout yesterday. Anyone ever have either?

Wow. I have not, but you are probably setting yourself up to become a stout fan only to be disappointed with most other stouts you try. At least if the reputation of BCBS stuff is accurate.

Where did you find those?

Yeah, wow where did you find those? Those are right up there with Pliny in terms of difficulty to find.

Capone's in Norristown. The owner will email the latest stuff he gets in each week. You have to reserve the beers via email. Usually within 20 minutes for the rare stuff like the BCBS beers.

Best ESB's???

I keep hearing Fullers, but I've got a couple of local craft ESB's that I like better. Anyone else?

About the only ESB I've ever had is Red Hook's because it came in a variety pack... It was pretty good. Tasted like just a mild pale ale. I don't fully understand what an ESB is though...

I've had a couple ESBs that I remember... Yards has one that I remember being good. I tried one that Penn did awhile back and it didn't do much for me.

Apparently the Iron Maiden beer I got is classified as an ESB on beer advocate, but I won't be trying that until xmas vacation starts later this week.

As in Norristown, PA? Wow, I need to check this place out, I think some friends of ours go there regularly. Time to join them for dinner

I literally just opened a bottle of it to drink during the game. It's ok I guess.

For my money, Great Lakes has one of the best price points out there. I picked up a variety pack today for $31.50....Eliot Ness, Eddie Fitz, Burning River, and Dortmunder Gold. All of these beers are near the top of their class, good stuff.
