God's Not Dead is on the docket for tonight although we may watch First Class since the wife hasn't seen it yet.

If that movie doesnt end with nothing being resolved and the kid failing the class, then it is not good. That movie needs to end up being what amounts to a film adaptation of an online argument.

I have no idea how it ends but what would be wrong with neither the kid nor the teacher changing their views (which is rather realistic) and the teacher passing him for putting up a well rounded and well thought out argument? It's not likely to happen in real life but there are people who have changed their world view based on what someone has told them or what they have learned. Lee Strobel for example. It's a movie. You have a better time believing in aliens attacking earth then someone questioning their faith (or lack thereof) because of a debate? The former has never happened (at least there is no proof) while the latter happens sometimes.

You would appreciate it better if you had a kid with a "glitch" or were a gamer from the 80s.

wreck it ralph was great. it would've been near perfect in my book if they toned down sarah silvermans character.

Our education system has slouched so much that Scrubs is a gateway point for the Walter Mitty short story?

Agreed. The movie was one of the better animated offerings of the past couple years.

Underrated in the same category: Turbo

After the relentless heat this Summer, I've given up on being outside past 11 AM. The Bourne series seems like a good way to hibernate.

I liked Wreck-It Ralph. It wasn't super funny, but it was actually pretty decent, so there's that trade-off. With a lot of those animated movies, as long as many of the jokes are at the very least endearing towards the overall tone of the movie, then that's really good enough. Ratatouille, for instance, I think is an awesome movie, but it's not exactly what I would categorize as a "laugh-out-loud" type of film.

When I watched Wreck-It Ralph for the first time, I didn't laugh nearly as much as I expected to, but I also didn't expect it to have as much heart as it did either, so that was a pleasant surprise.

Box office disaster doesn't even describe what's happening to Sin City. This is what happens when you release a sequel seven years too late.

Grand Budapest Hotel was outstanding. Most fun I've had watching a movie in a while. Dafoe and Fiennes were notably great, but the rest of the cast was too.

Yeah, I don't think you can rate movies like Wreck It Ralph by the number of times they make you laugh. They have funny parts, but not really intended to be slapstick kneeslappers

Not competing with anything. Some new emotional teen romance flick barely beat GOTG for first on Friday. Sin City is just late and apparently not very good. Most reviews I read said that the new parts Frank Miller wrote just for the movie pretty much suck. Dude just doesn't have it anymore.

Helluva rough patch for Robert Rodriguez. Since Grindhouse he's done Spy Kids 4, two Machete movies, and Sin City 2.
