Has the psyche of the soccer mom ever really been legimitely explored in film before? Will this be the film to do it? This could be a game-changer. I've already pre-ordered my tickets.

Closest I'm coming up with is 1992s surprise hit Ladybugs

WTF WAS SURPRISING ABOUT A FILM WITH RODNEY DANGERFIELD AND JOHNATHAN EFFIN BRANDIS. THAT MOVIE IS GOLD, @#*@#(@#*

well to both you and me, obviously nothing was surprising. I was talking more for the folk that don't understand cinema in its greatest form. For him to have Sidekicks and Ladybugs in the same year is one of the biggest achievements in all of film history.

I'll let the jar jar comment slide, but to hit me with brandis mere hours later is just cruel and quite honestly unethical. I have nothing but praise for Ladybugs, please check yo'self

"Judgment at Nuremberg" (1961) was recently on TCM. Incredibly gripping and poignant movie.

I enjoyed Seaquest

On a side note, Vinessa Shaw was hot in Ladybugs (or so I thought at the time, not now, because that would be perverted)

Off the top of my head, I would say the biggest piece of cinematic trash is The Italian Job. It's almost like hollywood got together to make a film that I would specifically hate.

it's a weird disclaimer you included there since she's older than you in real life - but a valid one none the less.

What are your thoughts on action movies? I wonder if there's just a pretty straight forward difference in taste, cause it sounds like your feelings on comedies are the same that my feeling is about action movies.

My favorite movies are
Apollo 13
The Rock
Saving Private Ryan
Terminator 2

Some others I really like are Benjamin Button, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, The Departed, Spy Game, The Rocketeer, Glory, Star Wars, The Avengers, Gladiator, Drive, Jurassic Park.

I used to really like movies like The Fast and the Furious but my tolerance for them has gone way down.

There are plenty of action movies I liked when I was younger that I am pretty bored by now.

You liked Benjamin Button? I thought that movie was too long and boring. It seemed like 20 minutes of the movie was Brad Pitt riding on a motorcycle.
