I saw it over 10 years ago. But there is indeed such a movie.

Honestly, never saw but about 20 minutes of Ghost Ship.

IIRC Ghost Rig was about demonic possession and how it killed everyone on board the rig originally (but one survivor) and he was able to convince a bunch of people to come check it out. The shenanigans that followed were the movie.

I had to look that movie up. It looks like the worst movie of all time.

I'd also like to add Rene Russo's Doctor Stupid character in Tin Cup as among the worst movie roles of all-time. It was poorly conceived and written, which gave it little chance of coming across as anything but barf. I love golf. I wanted her to fall in a bungee pit of fire ants.

If her only job was to let Costner play Wreck It, Ralph on her, then she would have been OK. Instead, they tried to make her Freud-n-booty.

I saw Mud on a shelf a few weeks ago and thought it was some old movie, then I saw a commercial for it. I wasn't surprised that that movie got to video before I ever heard of it. I can say that just by seeing a 20 second preview.

There was someone a little earlier in the thread that praised Mud, I've heard so little otherwise about that movie.

I didn't recognize it as being in theaters, but with a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.7 on IMDB, I am almost required to give it a viewing.

that was me, it was a great movie. Same guy who did Take Shelter (which was great as well). Great story, great acting, it's a drama so there aren't' many explosions and car chases, which appear to make it a bad movie for some? definitely give it a shot

WHo said that? Someone didn't like a movie you liked so they must be looking for a generic action movie? I can't ever remember the last time someone claimed that a movie like that was good. EVERYONE that enjoys an action movie states that they like it with a qualifier like "I enjoyed it for what it is".

watched clear history (HBO movie) with Larry david. It had it's moments but was more or less a long average episode of curb your enthusiasm (which is ok in it's own, but I'd rather just watch the show)

I wasn't referring to anyone on here, just some of the reviews in general when I came across it. To further clarify for you since you took this such to heart, they all said it was too long and boring with nothing happening in the movie, myself, immediately jumping to conclusions, speculated the words above.

edit: oh and take it easy.

Watched Zero Dark Thirty last night. I'm not sure why I had low expectations for that movie. I guess I thought it was going to be more of a military ops movie as opposed to the CIA/Intelligence stuff. Definitely one of those, if you haven't seen it yet, you really should.

Went to see the way way back this weekend too. Sam Rockwell was pretty great in that.

and if you want to get technical, it never played on many screens (indie movies like this usually don't), and actually did quite good for how little it was distributed.

give it a chance, you may like it. Kinda has a stand by me feel to it.
