Speaking of, any recent horror flics that are at least in the 'really good' category? I've been out of it lately.

That movie is a masterpiece

Masterpiece is pushing it a bit, but like I said I think it serves a purpose no doubt. It's just tough for me to call a film good if I don't think I'd ever watch it again, but I totally get it as a piece of art.

it's really easy to dismiss it as just another brutal "torture porn" flick. but it really is more like an ultra violent art film. It pushes the envelope not only of what a sensible person can endure watching, but also what to expect out of a movie in general. that being said, i totally acknowledge that it is extremely divisive, and i think everyone experiences it a bit differently. I get why someone would have an intense hatred for it.

I quite liked "You're Next". That's the best major release i've seen in a while.

I'm getting sent a screener this week for a movie called "Coyote", which i've heard is a total mindfudge. I'm looking forward to that.

also, if you haven't yet... track down a copy of Manborg.

Watching Martyrs is like being one in the film. Can you make it through the experience without quitting?

Man, Captain Phillips. For a movie that I already knew the ending to, it really drummed up some suspense. Excellent watch.

Just watched "The Butler". I enjoyed it very much. The only thing I didn't like (as with most movies) is the volume at certain points. There were times where a character would whisper something... no idea what they said. Mrs. c2i and I would just look at each other an say "did you hear what they said?" "Nope." Oh well, still very good movie.

I think, had he lived, he could have tried to make a move to something like a secondary part in a big money drama.
